Today I stopped for the most perfect meal that has ever been created (at least in my own opinion). For those of you “in the know” you’re already aware of the splendor that comes from eating at the best restaurant in Phoenix. Chino Bandito! If you’ve never been, it deserves a brief explanation … basically take the best of mexican food, mash it together with a bit of chinese food and add a dash of jamaican food to give it some kick. There are about 15 items, all of which you can get in a rice bowl … or, you can go for the combination plate. I don’t think you can go to Chino and only get a rice bowl, so combination plate it is.
Today I ordered a cheese quesidilla filled Emerald Chicken and another cheese quesidilla filled with Jade Red Chicken. Other amazing items are the Jerk Chicken, Pollo Diablo, Jen Red Pork and the ever popular Chile Releno. Combos come with 2 items, plain … in a burrito … or in a cheese quesidilla, also a choice of beans and a choice of rice. Most places I go to, the beans and rice are just throw-away fillers, but not at Chino. There are 5 kinds of rice to choose from … but only one you need to care about … Jerk Fried Rice! There are also 2 kinds of beans to choose from … again, only one you need to care about … Black Beans. These black beans are mashed up and mixed with Jerk seasoning and are the most amazing beans I’ve ever had.
To top it off, the kicker, fresh daily Snickerdoodle cookies for you to salivate over during your entire meal. The atmosphere is VERY plain, but the food makes up in spades. Check it out and let me know what you think!

So, you know you have too much music when the new Genius feature in iTunes 8 takes over 2 1/2 hours to gather all of the information about your music library … it hasn’t even SENT the information yet! I’ll be talking more about iTunes 8 soon but in the meantime I’ll be waiting for this thing to finish before I can do a decent review.

For some reason, I’ve been severely lacking in the organizational department lately. I think I’m still trying to get used to a normal 9-5 schedule and I’m not efficiently using my time during the evenings. So I decided that it was time for me to organize my closet! As I was color coding my shirts, however, I realized that I’m severely in need of some more color. I seem to gravitate toward blue and black … with an occasional gray mixed in. I’m not really sure, but I think I’m boring! I’ve also noticed that, since I’m dressing nicer for work, I’m quickly running out of dress shirts. I think the obligatory “run to Banana Republic” is in order … or maybe I’ll wait until my birthday … that might be better. Anyway … what color do you think I should adopt? I wore a purple shirt to work today and I got made fun of … kind of, actually one lady told me “REAL men wear purple!” Ha.

Today is the day, Wednesday 10 September 2008 at 7:00 UTC when the Large Hadron Collider is set to be activated. For those of you who don’t know what the LHC is, it’s the world’s largest particle accelerator complex, intended to collide opposing beams of 7 TeV protons. Its main purpose is to explore the validity and limitations of the Standard Model, the current theoretical picture for particle physics. Basically, it’s the world’s largest and the highest-energy particle accelerator.
What’s all the fuss?
There are people who say that the LHC experiments have the potential to create low velocity micro black holes that could grow in mass or release dangerous radiation leading to doomsday scenarios, such as the destruction of the Earth.
I must admit, it makes me feel like I’m in a movie … maybe a 1960’s bomb shelter movie … but I think it’s kind of interesting how many people have some strange ideas about how the world will end. At least in my mind, it’s pretty clear.

Our newest dog Brook is a cute little girl for sure. Ever since we got her, I’ve been calling her ’scarf’ since she loves to wrap herself around your neck while you sleep. Here’s a perfect example of her and Sharilyn on Saturday morning. She’s such a sweet little puppy, I’m so glad we got her.

We had a fun afternoon at Tad and Cathys for lunch. It was nice to spend time with Ron and Nancy Thomas as well.

I just thought I would let you know, I’m making raspberry sorbet right now. I’ve been addicted to my ice cream maker over the past few weeks and I thought you should know that there are plenty of frosty treats being produced at the Schiele household. Such favorites as Vanilla Chocolate Chip, Hershey’s Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Orange Kool Aid Slushies and now … Raspberry Sorbet.
