If you’ve ever thought that Sarah Palin’s speech was a little Avant-Garde … this will clarify things a bit.

not about politics

I like this video, while I may not agree with everything in it, it’s just funny to see Ron Howard up to his old tricks.

your materialism is showing

I have to say, this whole setup is gorgeous!  I mean come on … you have to admit, this thing LOOKS COOL!  New Macbook + new Cinema Display Monitor = Bryan’s mouth watering.  Don’t worry folks … I’m all set on the mac homefront, but if you’re not, you might want to pick one up, I highly recommend it.

columbus day

Posted by bryan

I always heard about the stories of Christopher Columbus sailing across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492 and finding a new world in the process and I always thought that was such a cool story.  Turns out there’s more to the story than we all realize.  Reading the Wikipedia Article, I read about the opposition to Columbus Day and how people have reason to believe that Columbus was responsible for all kinds of horrendous treatment of Native Americans.

The arrival of the Europeans indirectly caused the decline in population of many indigenous peoples by introducing diseases previously unknown in the New World. An estimated 85% of the Native American population was wiped out within 150 years of Columbus’ arrival in America, due largely to diseases such as smallpox that spread among Native populations

Apparently many of the natives ended up dying from starvation, disease, or simply being overworked.  So, I feel it is my civic responsibility to, in remembrance of those overworked Native Americans, take the day off of work!

Also, I need to clean out my garage and other chores I’ve been puttin off for a while.  Oh … and Sharilyn’s off, so that’s a plus too.
